Plan with precision, purpose & determination

High performance teams start every day and operation with a strong plan, a plan that is built with everything and everyone in mind, and that considers every aspect of every task up front. Timeline, materials, landscape, weather, workforce, subs and partners—there are countless moving parts and scenarios that all have to be analyzed from every angle so we’re able to anticipate challenges, prepare for the unexpected and overcome potential hazards. We must consider every possibility at every phase in order to develop a plan that equips the project team with a roadmap for working safely and efficiently from start to finish. This also includes making sure everyone involved in the project understands the plan, their role in it, and the expectations for a safe, successful build.

Every action impacts the next, so every single person needs to have a clear understanding of why things have to be done a certain way and why it’s critical that they execute their part exactly according to the plan. The team is our bond, and the plan is our glue. Being aware of the risks and following every detail of the plan helps us be far more successful in preventing injuries and incidents and keeping our workers safe. That makes the plan the most important tool we have for keeping us together as a team and working without risk of injury.

Own your part in our safety & success

Asking all of the right questions and considering all factors upfront ensures our plans are designed to protect everyone involved in the project. Every detail of the plan has a purpose, but a plan is only effective if it’s thought through and followed through all the way. Every one of us shares ownership and responsibility for the plan, knowing their part, keeping everyone on track and recognizing when anything changes that can impact the execution and safety of the plan. That’s when everyone in every role has an obligation to immediately stop what we’re doing, clearly communicate any changes or issues, and revise the plan to ensure the entire team can safely proceed.

Working with this mindset empowers everyone on the team to evaluate, take action, and adapt the plan when something unexpected throws it off track. This gives us all the power to solve problems, move our projects forward, and build a culture of trust and respect on every job, which translates to safer outcomes and immense pride in what we accomplish together every day on the job.

Fully commit to executing with excellence

Our commitment to safety is reflected in the level of precision and intention we bring to our work. This is the ultimate team sport, and every project is a game we can’t lose. It takes every single person following the plan exactly, and working together to manage all aspects throughout the process to ensure that precision and execution are all at the highest levels. This helps us work better and smarter together, strengthens trust within teams, and becomes a source of pride and camaraderie across all levels.

The safety, quality and outcomes of our work improve when everyone involved feels a sense of pride in the focus, attention to detail, confidence and ownership they collectively put into the execution. When we’re successful as individuals, we play a part in making the whole team successful. Everyone has to be all in, own their part, and set the bar to perform with pride together every day. This makes our teams stronger, our work safer, and ultimately leads to actions that create a positive culture shift throughout the entire industry.
